Path Clash
Move, Build, or Break — race a Runner across the board while reshaping the path under your opponent's feet.
About the Game
Path Clash is a fast, original turn-based strategy game. Two Runners race toward opposite edges of a 7x7 board — each turn, choose to Move your Runner, Build a barrier to block a path, or Break an existing barrier (yours or your opponent's) to reopen one. A renewable Energy economy funds Build and Break, with bonus Energy Nodes on the board worth fighting over. No wall you place is ever permanently safe, and neither player can ever be fully sealed off — the board always keeps at least one route open for both sides. Play free online against the computer (three difficulties) or pass-and-play locally with a friend — no download, no signup, no account.
How to Play
Cyan starts on the left edge, Amber on the right — each Runner's goal is to reach any cell on the opposite side. On your turn, choose exactly one action: Move your Runner one step to an open adjacent cell (always free), Build a barrier on one edge to block a path between two cells (costs 2 Energy), or Break any existing barrier on the board — yours or your opponent's — to reopen a path (costs 3 Energy). You gain 1 Energy automatically every turn, plus 2 bonus Energy for landing on one of the four purple Energy Nodes. A Build is only allowed if both players still have at least one possible route to their goal afterward — you can slow your opponent down, but you can never permanently trap them, and neither can they trap you. First Runner to reach the far edge wins immediately.

Gameplay Tips
- Build is a slowdown, not a wall — since Break exists, treat every barrier you place as temporary leverage, not a permanent solution.
- Energy Nodes are worth detouring for early, especially before your opponent claims the ones on their side of the board.
- Don't spend all your Energy on offense — a Break in reserve can undo your opponent's best block the moment they commit to it.
- On Easy and Normal, the computer never sees anything you couldn't see yourself — if a move looks obviously good, assume it's considering it too.
- A shorter path isn't always the safer one — sometimes the longer route avoids walking past a cell your opponent can cheaply wall off next turn.

No — the game only allows a Build action if both players still have at least one path to their goal afterward, so a full trap is never possible.
