Resident Evil 2, 3 and 4 Hit Switch 2 on October 16 — and What's Real About the Requiem DLC Rumors

Switch 2 completes its run of modern Resident Evil games in time for Halloween. Separately, plenty of claims about Requiem's first expansion are circulating — here's which are official and which aren't.
Confirmed vs rumored
- RE2 Deluxe, RE3, RE4 Gold on Switch 2 (digital)
- October 16, 2026
- Physical Switch 2 editions
- January 29, 2027
- Resident Evil Requiem sales
- Over 8 million copies, per Capcom
- Requiem story DLC "Last Days"
- Name, cast and timing from insiders only
What happened?
Capcom announced in September that its remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3 and Resident Evil 4 are coming to Nintendo Switch 2 on October 16, 2026, as digital releases on the Nintendo eShop. Physical editions follow on January 29, 2027. The date was also highlighted in Nintendo's September Direct.
Which versions you get
- Resident Evil 2 Deluxe Edition — the base game plus an extra pack of Leon and Claire costumes, a deluxe Samurai Edge and a soundtrack swap
- Resident Evil 3 — the 2020 remake
- Resident Evil 4 Gold Edition — the base game, the Separate Ways story DLC starring Ada Wong, and the extra costume and weapon pack
They join the RE Engine games already on Switch 2 — Resident Evil 7 biohazard Gold Edition, Resident Evil Village Gold Edition and Resident Evil Requiem, which launched in February. With these three, every modern RE Engine entry is playable on the system.
Why it matters
Capcom has become one of Switch 2's most committed third-party publishers: alongside the Resident Evil remakes, Monster Hunter Wilds arrives on December 4. The October 16 date also lands the trilogy squarely in Halloween season, and for Switch 2 owners who missed the remakes elsewhere, it is a complete modern Resident Evil library on a handheld.
Resident Evil Requiem DLC: rumor check
RUMOR: The claims in this section come from insiders and leakers. Nothing here is officially confirmed by Capcom unless stated.
Resident Evil Requiem has been a major hit — Capcom has reported sales of more than 8 million copies since its February 27, 2026 launch, and the company raised its profit forecast on the back of it. Naturally, attention has turned to an expansion.
Several outlets have reported insider claims of a story DLC called "Last Days," with talk of Ada Wong and a returning Mercenaries mode. But the claimed timing is contradictory: some reports pointed to September 2026, while a later claim attributed to the well-known leaker Dusk Golem points to late 2027. September has now passed without an announcement.
What's confirmed is short: Capcom has not announced any Resident Evil Requiem story DLC, a name, a cast or a date. Until it does, treat "Last Days" as an unverified rumor. ZOQSY will cover any official Capcom announcement when it happens.
What we don't know
- Switch 2 performance details for the three remakes
- Whether Requiem will get story DLC at all, and when
- Whether the long-rumored Code Veronica remake exists — also unconfirmed
