About the Game

Hoop Masters is an original basketball shooting game set on city rooftops at dusk, with 50 challenges in five chapters. Drag back and release to shoot: the direction of your pull sets the arc and its length sets the power, and a dotted guide shows how the shot starts out. Each challenge gives you a few shots from set spots and a number of baskets to make. Hoops slide and ride up and down, you shoot from moving lifts and rolling carts, crates and steel beams block the low lines, bumpers send the ball flying, defenders shuffle and jump to block, rims shrink after every make and shot clocks keep the pressure on. Swishes, bank shots off the glass, bumper trick shots and deep shots all score bonus points, and baskets in a row build a combo. Every challenge has been checked by a shot search on the game's own physics, which proves each basket you need can be made with real margin for error.

How to Play

Press anywhere, drag back and let go to shoot — like a slingshot. On most courts the hoop is to your right, so pull down and to the left: a steeper pull gives a higher arc and a longer pull gives more power. The dotted guide shows the start of the flight. On a keyboard, change the arc with the left and right arrows, the power with up and down, and shoot with Space; the Shoot button repeats your last arc and power. Each challenge shows how many baskets you need from how many shots. A ball that drops through the rim without touching rim or glass is a swish, worth bonus points; some levels require swishes. Hoops, lifts, crates and defenders can move, so watch their rhythm before you release, and beat the shot clock when there is one.

Gameplay Tips

• •A higher arc drops more steeply and is more forgiving — and more likely to swish.
• •Close to the hoop, aim at the backboard and let the ball drop in off the glass.
• •Against a jumping defender, get the ball high before it reaches them.
• •Moving hoops are slowest at the ends of their path — release so the ball arrives there.
• •Your arc and power stay set between shots, so the Shoot button repeats a shot that worked.
